    CAGP-CCSMH Annual Scientific Meeting 

    It is with great excitement that we invite you to join us for our joint meeting, CAGP-CCSMH Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) of the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry (CAGP) and Canadian Coalition of Senior's Mental Health (CCSMH) from October 12-13, at the Halifax Marriott Harboufront Hotel.

    Please Note: To access Member rates, you must first be logged in. All Allied Health membership is valid untill May 31, 2019


    Cancellations will only be accepted on or before August 30, 2018(an administration fee will apply). No credits or refunds will be given for cancellations received after August 30, 2018. No liability is assumed by CAGP for changes in program date, content, speakers, venues or cancellation of the event.


    • Payment by Visa or Mastercard is only available for online registrations.

    Maud Lewis Gallery Tour: An Afternoon with Maudie

    Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

    Maud  Lewis  was  a  famous  Nova Scotia folk  artist  who  exemplified  resilience  by  creating  brightly  colored  art  work  full  of  optimism  and  joy  in  spite  of  serious  life  hardships  including  severe  rheumatoid  arthritis  that  limited  the  size  of  the  canvases  she  could  paint.  Her  actual  home  was  8  ft  by  10.8  ft  and  painted  with  folk  art  all  over it.  Her  house  was  later transported  whole  to  the  Nova Scotia  Art  Gallery  where  it  is  now on  exhibit.

    Group Rate: $8.00 per person

    The Maud Lewis Gallery is a part of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and is only a 4 minute walk from the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. The tour is guided and is approximately 20-25 minutes. The group rate is $8 which will also give you full access to the rest of the museum.

    Discover the Nova Scotia Wineries that are enchanting the world!

    We will whisk you away aboard the Magic Winery Bus – Tidal Bay Express (MWB) for an incomparable day of tasteful adventure in the heart of Nova Scotia wine country.

    This North American one-of-a-kind excursion will visit two of the most storied and beautiful Nova Scotia wineries and share the story of Grand Pre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience first-hand the unique terroir that creates some of the most memorable wines in the world; learn about the region's history and rooted connection with food; and best of all, get a taste for why this region has a reputation as the centre of wine country in Atlantic Canada.

    Enjoy the comfort and amenities of a modern-day double decker coach complete with an engaging, informative and entertaining guide with lots of special treats along the way.

    1:45pm: Bus Loading and Departure from Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel

    • Each guest will receive a complimentary commemorative six-bottle wine bag

    Off Highway 101 at Exit 10 and pass through the historic UNESCO community of Grand Pre where dykelands, originally cultivated by the Acadiens, were engineered to hold back the world’s highest tides to reveal the rich and fertile land.

    3:00pm: Bus Arrives Luckett Vineyards

    • 1293 Grand Pre Road, Wallbrook, NS
    • Disembark for tour and tasting
    • Extended tastings and wine by the glass available for additional purchase
    • Guests can walk the vineyard and browse in wine retail shop

    3:50pm: Bus Departs Luckett Vineyards

    3:55pm: Bus Arrives Landscape of Grand Pre View Park

    • Share the agricultural heritage of the region and the importance of our first farmers who cultivated grapes here in 1611 – perhaps where the North American wine industry was born!
